INGWE ADVENTURES YOUTH GROUPS

   

 

Ingwe Adventures has been operating since December 2004 offering a variety of educational programmes that promise fun and adventure with many of our past groups coming back again and again.

In July 2009 Ingwe proudly received endorsement by the Western Cape Education Department

Apart from the dedicated and experienced team, Ingwe Adventures works with one group at a time, giving you exclusivity and our undivided attention. Plus, Ingwe has had a long working relationship with Nature’s Valley Trust since it first opened in 2004 and officially forged a stronger partnership in 2009, working together to enhance the skill and expertise of both organisations. This is a unique opportunity for schools to use for their outdoor education programmes covering a multitude of skills needed to ensure curriculum criteria is fulfilled.

WHAT HAPPENS ON PROGRAMMES WITH INGWE ADVENTURES?

On arrival at your selected venue, depending on your programme requirements, we would be there to welcome you and go through the itinerary and general rules. During our programmes make sure cell phones and other electronic gadgets are safely packed away so we can focus on each other.

We work on a first name basis and our most important rule is respect for each other, the venue you are visiting and the environment.

ONTO THE PROGRAMME!

Groups are briefed on their programme for the day and then split up into teams.

Our activities have been developed with an emphasis on outdoor education, leadership skills, building effective teamwork and ‘thinking out of the box’.

Most importantly, the challenges are set out for a team to tackle an 'obstacle / challenge' not as a competition against the other team, but rather as a team that overcomes and completes it as an effective group.

Teams participate in various activities to help them build their team spirit with plenty of fun and laughter along the way! The programme which has been chosen will determine the activities. Ingwe Adventures facilitators are present at all times during the programmes, we aim to work on a 1:10 ratio and we welcome involvement and participation from the teachers/group leaders.

Every programme ends off with a debriefing session and feedback forms (dependent on programme) followed by a slide show presentation (venue dependent) of the pictures taken during the day (the group gets a free copy!) and then ending off with handing out of certificates.

If the group is staying over, the teacher/group leaders are responsible for the night time duties and getting the children up in the mornings.

Programmes can be tailor made to suit your specific needs and we welcome your participation and suggestions.

Our facilitators bring a wealth of experience into our programmes and are passionate about Nature and Conservation and the importance of educating our youth in the preservation of it.

We are linked to many other conservation and community awareness projects right on our doorstep and can include this in your programme. We excel at designing packages to suit your needs!

IMPORTANT STUFF!

 

  • Our programmes require at least ½ day, but a full day is preferred

  • A minimum of 10 participants is required

  • Equipment, facilitation, certificates and copy of pictures taken is included in the rate

  • Enquire for special combo rates if more than one programme is chosen

  • Indemnities will need to be signed for each participant by their parent/legal guardian

  • Old clothes and closed shoes to be worn

  • Hat, sunscreen and small daypack with water bottle if doing one of the hiking programmes

  • Any special medical or dietary needs to be communicated prior to programme date

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Ingwe Adventures is a 16-star Eco Atlas awarded business with a high standard of environmental ethics and structures in place. We encourage our guests to conserve resources, recycle and keep waste to a minimum. 

Indemnity forms need to be signed for each participant or guest.

Please note that leaders of youth/student events & camps are required to supervise the students 24 hours and to be on site at all times.

Ingwe Adventures has a zero-tolerance policy towards the use of drugs and illegal substances. 

The use of glitter, bubble/chewing gum during our programmes is prohibited. Fire lanterns and fireworks are also strictly prohibited in our area.

Prices are subject to change; where possible prior notice will be given. Confirmed bookings that have paid a deposit will not be affected.

50% of total cost required by bank transfer to confirm your booking The balance is payable 30 days prior to arrival via bank transfer. Right of admission reserved. 

Arrival and departure times are as stated on the quote/invoice unless prior arrangements have been made. In the event of premature departure, the full extent of your booking will be charged for. A refundable breakage deposit may be added to the final total. Any damage to premises and property or extra cleaning incurred, will be deducted off the breakage deposit held. If the total is more than the breakage deposit held, the amount shall be deposited into our account within 24 hours of any damage incurred.

Once you have signed the quotation/invoice and/or made a deposit to secure your booking, you are deemed to have read, understand and agree to be bound by all these terms and conditions as well as those on our website and that any queries you may have, have been addressed to your satisfaction.

All terms and conditions of establishments or suppliers where we may have made an accommodation or activity bookings for you are applicable

All Covid-19 protocols as per Government regulations must be adhered to.

 

IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be made in writing & any bank or administration charges incurred will be deducted off the deposit received

Cancellation fees of the full amount of the entire booking prior to arrival is applicable as listed below:

150 to 91 days = 35%.  90 to 61 days = 50%. 60 to 31 days = 75%. 30 to 00 days = 100%
